C9 petroleum resin is mainly used as a rubber softening additive in the rubber industry. Benzene butadiene rubber itself is lack of viscosity and hard, adding C9 petroleum resin, so that the molecular chain of benzene butadiene rubber is divided, so that the product has a good viscosity homosoftening degree. On the other hand, C9 petroleum resin can reduce the amount of natural rubber into synthetic rubber, without changing the quality of rubber products, significantly reducing the cost. Application of C9 petroleum resin in coating industry:
In the coating industry, petroleum resins can be combined with other resins to replace high-priced resins in whole or in part, so as to reduce costs and improve the luster, hardness, water resistance, stability and chemical resistance of products. For example, in the formulation of phenolic varnish, C9 petroleum resin is used to replace rosin modified phenolic resin and rosin calcium grease in equal amounts, and the obtained product still meets the standards of phenolic varnish and phenolic enamel, but the cost of C9 petroleum resin is less than 1/4 of the cost of rosin modified phenolic resin, so the cost can be greatly reduced. Adding alicyclic petroleum resin to epoxy resin and polyurethane mixed paint can improve the hardness, bending test, temperature resistance, weather resistance and other indexes of the product.
