Product Description

Polyisoprene rubber is obtained by solution polymerization of isoprene monomers, abbreviated as IR. Due to the presence of two double bonds in the molecule of isoprene, polymer isomers with different structures are produced when polymerized under different conditions, and their structures are very complex. As rubber, there are mainly three types of structures: cis 1,4-polyisoprene, trans 1,4-polyisoprene, and 3,4-polyisoprene. The molecular weight of pentadiene is (32-62) × 104. The glass transition temperature varies depending on the structure. The Tg of titanium based isoprene rubber is -70~-68 ºC, while that of lithium based isoprene rubber is -69~-66 ºC. The Tg of trans 1,4-polyisoprene is -60~-53 ºC. The structure of polyisoprene rubber is similar to that of natural rubber, so its main physical and mechanical properties are similar to that of natural rubber. However, due to the differences in microstructure, molecular structure, and polar groups between the two, there are significant differences in physical, mechanical, and chemical properties. The raw rubber strength of polyisoprene rubber is significantly lower than that of natural rubber. In addition, the adhesion, elastic modulus, tear strength, high-temperature strength, wear resistance, and fatigue life of polyisoprene rubber are not as good as those of natural rubber. Polyisoprene rubber has high elasticity and good cold resistance.
