SBS thermoplastic elastomers are block copolymers of styrene and butadiene. After heating, the material can flow and be easily processed and formed. After cooling to room temperature, the polystyrene chain segments aggregate into glassy microzones, which act as physical crosslinking points for the polybutadiene chain segments, thus making the material exhibit the characteristics of rubber. That's why they're called thermoplastic elastomers.
